Obituary of Sandra "Sandi" L. Metzger

Sandra Lee (Sandi) Metzger of Versailles, wife of Richard Metzger, passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2023 while undergoing heart surgery at Baptist Health Lexington. She was 67. Born in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Young. She is survived by Richard, her husband of 46 years, and their five children: Amy (Mason) Alsup of Carrolton, KY, Matthew (Amy)Metzger, Bradley (Allison)Metzger, Krista (Russell)Abner, and Ashley Metzger, all of Versailles. She was the proud Grammy of Emma, Evan, Camden, Ava, Eleanor, Harper, Jacob and Mollie. She will be dearly missed by her brothers Gary Young and Randy Young of Columbus, Ohio, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a nurse her entire life because she loved taking care of people. She loved God, her family and friends, dogs, knitting, crystals, the beach, books, and ghost hunting. She suffered from several health problems later in life which limited her abilities and caused constant pain. She is now at peace and is finally pain free.

A memorial service will be held at 5pm on April14th, 2023 at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. A celebration of life will immediately follow the service at the church pavilion. All family and friends are invited to partake in food, beverages, and sharing fond memories of Sandi.
