Obituary of William Smith

William Melvin Smith, 85,  passed away on December 13, 2022.  Mr. Smith was born in Lexington , Kentucky on August 25, 1937 to the late David and Sylvia Plowman Smith.  He worked in the Physiology Department at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and was a former basketball and baseball coach for Woodford County Parks and Recreation.

He is survived by sons, Billy (Leslie) Smith, and Jerry Flora, both of Lawrenceburg; and brother, Ronald Smith, Versailles.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Marie Johnson Smith.

Visitation for Mr. Smith will be held on December 19, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.  Funeral Service will follow at 12:00PM.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington. 

Serving as pallbearers are Todd Edmondson, Buddy Flora, Daniel Flora, Jim Jarman, and Larry Thompson.
