Obituary of Donald Richard "Dickie" Cornish

Donald Richard “Dickie” Cornish, 82, husband of the late Norma Jean Cornish, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was born in Versailles, Kentucky to the late Clarence H. and Lillian Routt Cornish on August 16, 1940. Mr. Cornish retired from the Versailles Police Department as dispatcher. He was a member of Pinkard Baptist Church and a former member of the Woodford County Fire Board. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Judy (Randall) Dowell, Lexington; step grandsons, John Dowell and Barry (Rhonda) Dowell; and step great granddaughter, Sophia Grace Dowell.  

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Monday, October 24, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill with Dr. Mike James and Rev. Jimmy Closterman officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Allan Springfield, Joe Routt, Don Mitchell, Phillip “Spanky” Lancaster, Jimmy Closterman, and Daniel Chism. Honorary casketbearers will be Owen Roberts, John Dowell, Barry Dowell and John Giles. Visitation will be Monday, from 11:00 am until the start of the service.
