Obituary of John Carter

John Carter, 66, husband of Melinda “Mindy” Heilig Carter, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born in Mt Carmel, IL on April 5, 1956 to the late John H. and Pauline Catt Carter. John was an electrician by trade and a project manager. Over his career, he worked for several different companies that were contracted with Toyota Manufacturing. John loved classic cars, especially mustangs; he also owned a Mach 1 and a 1966 Ford Truck Camper. He enjoyed working, traveling with his job, and watching UK Basketball and Football games. Family was always most important to him and he was very dedicated to his wife, Mindy, she lit up his world. John loved to spend time in his workshop, helping with the care of the animals and the farm work, and he was very handy around the house.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tara Robinson, London and Sara Carter, London; his sisters, Vonda Bledsoe, IL, and Diane (Larry) White, IL; his brother, “Bud” Charles Carter, IL; and his grandchildren, Natalie, Hannah, Nathaniel, Jacob, and Cora.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Carter.

Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with a Gathering of Family and Friends to follow until 3:00pm on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
