Obituary of Patricia "Pat" McClure Phythian Badgett
Patricia “Pat” McClure Phythian Badgett, 83, widow of Jack Badgett, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. A native of Frankfort, she was born on October 4, 1939 to the late Johnny and Evelyn Jones Phythian. She was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. Pat retired as the Executive Director for Frankfort Chamber of Commerce and Frankfort Tourism. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Kentucky Association of Realtors, a member of the Board of Directors of American Red Cross, and a Board of Directors of Frankfort Regional Medical Center, member of the Frankfort Rotary Club, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Board Member of the Capital Expo, and member of the Red Hat Society, to name a few. Pat will be known forever as “Granny Pat” and “Queen B.”
Pat enjoyed camping, campfires, Kentucky River, Daytona Beach Trips, cruises, casinos, dancing, and spending time with family friends and her grandbabies. She was an expert at playing Tonk and Left Right Center.
She is survived by her children, Tommy “T.J.” (Bobbie Jo) Badgett, Lawrenceburg, Jackie “Jackie Sue” (Keith) Tamminga, Boca Raton, FL; her grandchildren, Amber Badgett, Newport, Jacquelynne Harper Kates (David), CO, Ellissa Todd (Jack), Frankfort, John Wesley Badgett III “Trey” (Krista), Georgetown, Blake Badgett, OH, Brooke Badgett, OH, Brynne Badgett, OH, Zach Mayes, Lawrenceburg, Joshua Mayes, Lawrenceburg, Madison Badgett, Lawrenceburg, Garrett Tamminga, Lexington, and Jordan Tamminga, Lexington; her great grandchildren, Jackson Landrum, Grayson Todd, and Bradlee Todd.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth Michael Badgett, and John Wesley Badgett II.
Celebration of Pat’s Life with open mic will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends until 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
