Obituary of Jack A. Barnett

Jack A. Barnett, Age 73, passed away Tuesday, June 21st, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by friends and family, after a long hard fought battle with cancer.

Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He served proudly in the Navy on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War.  He was a videographer for the Crook and Chase show and retired from Lexington Fayette Urban County Government as a public service supervisor.  He was enjoying his retirement at Herrington Lake where he worked on restoring old vehicles, traveling and loving on his granddaughters.  He is survived by his son Willis (Diana) Barnett of Lexington, Ky and daughter Julia "Callie" (Nathaniel) Byrd., also of Lexington. His four granddaughters, Hailey Paige and Leighton Elizabeth Barnett and Talia Thompson and Bridget Adelaide Byrd. Sisters, Anita (Greg ) Buzzard and Valerie Krentz (Mark), Brother Jerry Barnett, several nieces and nephews, as well as several very special friends. He was proceeded in death by his wife Margaret Young Barnett, his mother Rose Brown and two brothers, Steven and Phillip Barnett.  Services will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356 Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00AM.
