Obituary of Christine "Christy" Rene Cernek

Christine "Christy" Rene Cernek, 52, passed away on April 16, 2022 in Lexington. Christy was born in Lexington, Kentucky on November 16, 1969 to Patricia Cernek and the late Richard Cernek. She was a lover of gardening and animals and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her mother, Christy is survived by her son, Stephen Lyal, of Lexington; fiancé, Chad Samons, of Lexington; her sisters, Michelle Cernek, of Lexington, Joanie Zetzer (Jackie) Bryant, of Evans, Georgia, and Debbie Zetzer Carver, of San Diego, California; her nieces, Kendra Carlstedt (and her son Kingston), of San Diego, California, Jessica (Sabastian Baumgarten) Bryant of Paris, France, and Carissa McGlothin, of Richmond. 

A gathering of friends and family for Christy will be held on May, 16, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing from 6pm to 7pm, with a celebration of life service to follow at 7pm. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Christy to the American Heart Association and the Lexington Humane Society.
