Bob, we had a lot of time and you gave nothing but kindness to everyone you met. Although, we met on business, you were my friend. Bob was active every day, walking 4+ miles multiple times a day. Bob had a charismatic personality that exuberated kindness at every interaction. I did not make his funeral and I wasn't a part of his life at the end, but I did make a conscious effort to always let him know my appreciation for him. We had 45 years difference in age.
To share a story, Bob would always come into the clubhouse where he lived (I worked) providing gifts/candy to all staff. This gesture is from a dying ideal that I will attempt to carry on in my life. Although, it may have seemed strange to my generation, these gifts were always personal and often Christmas related (a small passion for Bob).
Bob would spend his days in building 19 actively walking, talking, and betting on horses. He would share his picks (His favorite were always Pick 4 or 5s). I would celebrate his wins with him.
I'm sorry you passed early, but I hope to see you again in another light.
