Obituary of Susan Teague Speare Durant

Susan Speare Durant,80, of Spartanburg, SC and Lexington, KY, a former history professor at the University of Kentucky, Administrative Law Judge for the Office of the Kentucky Attorney General, and long-time member of Hunter Presbyterian Church, passed away on Monday December 20, 2021 at home.  She was an avid reader and gardener.

Susan is survived by her sister, Sandra (Lynn) Parker, her children Benjamin (Carol) Durant and Sarah (Elizabeth) Durant, her grandchildren Matthew, Elena Grace, and Naomie Durant, and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service for Susan will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1pm at Hunter Presbyterian Church, 109 Rosemont Garden, Lexington KY 40503. A reception meal held at the church will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Doctors Without Borders, the Central Kentucky Council for Peace and Justice, or another social justice organization.
