I first came to know Choo Choo in my first year of Little League baseball... he was a very good player and I was not! We met up again as freshmen at Franklin County High and and went on to become best friends throughout high school. Along with Jimmy Carey our other 'best friend', we must have driven several thousand miles while never leaving Frankfort... mostly circling drive-in restaurantrs "to see and be seen". I'm sure I spent more time during high school with Choo Choo than with any of my family. We played basketball together for four years, had numerous double dates and hung out together the rest of the time. We were very much like brothers.
I moved away after high school (got married, college in Miami) and only got back to Frankfort once a year. For several years Choo Choo and I would get together when I was home to get caught up, but we lost track of each other when he moved away from Frankfort. Even though 50 years have passed since we were last together, I feel like I've lost a family member. While I have many stories involving Choo Choo... he and I are both better off that they not be told! I have thought of Choo Choo endless time over the years and just hoped that he was doing well!
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
