Obituary of Joe Gentry

Lexington - Bobby Joe Gentry, 86, loving husband of Kim Gentry for 40 years, passed away on February 19, 2021 in Lexington. 

Joe was born in Providence, Kentucky on September 27, 1934 to the late Raymond and Catherine McCormick Gentry.  He was a Veteran with 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, a Mason and was retired from the University of Kentucky. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Aaron Pease, Bobby Gentry, Jr., Kenneth Gentry; his daughters, Donna Lynch, Kathy Glassey; grandchildren, Alexander Pease, Alicia Teague and 40 other grandchildren, great, great-great  grandchildren; sisters Debbie Carroll, Faye Alexander, Gaye White, Evelyn Rivet, Louise Rickard; brothers Lonnie Gentry, Sammy Gentry, Terry Gentry, Raymond Gentry; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation for Joe will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services with military honors will follow at 5 p.m. 

A private burial service will be held at a later date. 

Memorial contributions in Joe’s memory can be made to St. Jude Childrens' Hospital.
